What is the difference between RTO and RPO?
spaceto flip
RTO (Recovery Time Objective): maximum acceptable downtime. How fast you must recover. RPO (Recovery Point Objective): maximum acceptable data loss. How much data you can afford to lose. If RTO is 1 hour, you must be serving traffic within 60 minutes. If RPO is 15 minutes, data must be replicated at least every 15 minutes. Both are business decisions, not engineering decisions.
